How to set a custom Apple Watch face

Apple Watch doesn't allow third-party face files. Instead, you use a high-resolution wallpaper as a Photos watch face and add complications yourself — here's how.

    Download the wallpaper

    On the face page, tap Download wallpaper. Save the image to your iPhone.

    Open the Photos app

    Find the downloaded image in Photos. Tap Share, then Create Watch Face → Photos Watch Face.

    Set it as a Photos watch face

    Choose your positioning and add the face to your watch. It syncs over from your iPhone.

    Customise complications manually

    On the watch, press and hold the face, tap Edit, and add the complications (date, activity, weather) you want.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download a real Apple Watch face file?
No. Apple does not allow importing third-party face files. These are wallpapers you set as a Photos face — we never present them as official face downloads.
